This video looks at the results of using different tones from The Army Painter on a 28mm Warlord Games Napoleonic French Line Infantryman. I've had this result both applying straight from the bottle and watered down. The dark blue-green of the wash works great against the yellower tones of Escorpena Green, and the gloss varnish helps it flow into recesses and off the highlight. I preferred to look of the army painter for my Zombicide zombies. The final finish will be shiney and you may want to put a dull coat on it to tone it down. Those three products combined is what they the suggest to use for adding depth, and detail to models from 10mm-28mm scale, and everything in between. One of those things is the difference between GWs shades and APs washes - flow, interaction with medium, finish, etc.

Army Painter / GW wash (shade) differences?. Army Painter / GW wash (shade) differences? But for anything typically Grimdark, Soft Tone, Strong Tone & Dark Tone are the trifecta of excellent washes. This guide had me go down to my local game store and I bought all 3 of the Army Painter Inks (Strong, Dark, and Soft tone).
